Day 68 14 August 02 Wednesday
I got to skip PT to turn in more equipment and go get my field jacket that I have been missing since day 1. After lunch chow we got to go and get our personal bag! I was excited! I did recall however that when I got here, during 'shake down' (when the Drill Sergeant goes through all your belongings and tells you what you can and can not have during basic training. What you can't keep is locked up in a container until you finish basic) it rained so when I opened my bag, a huge stentch emitted from it. My belt, shoes and clothes were covered in mold. I am trying to recover my clothes (washed 2x) but shoes and belt are done for. Oh well. I'm packed and that feels good.
